SAMMANFATTNING
One way of approaching Harry Potter and the Philosopher´s Stone is, as has been done in this essay, to find similarities and differences that the book may have with the genre of fantasy fiction. This essay evidently focuses upon both the similarities and differences. The purpose has been to see to what extent Rowling has chosen to incorporate traditional fantasy fiction features in her text, and with a clear definition of the genre in mind, be able to find and analyse the liberties that she takes with the genre.
